3. Description of main components
The equipment is mainly composed of car body, hydraulic system, running system, control system, guide device, transmission system, braking system, coupler system, steering system, driving monitoring system and other parts.
The equipment has a front and rear articulated structure, with the front and rear drive axles as driving force, four-wheel drive, and articulated steering.
3.1 Body

The main structure of the frame is made of high-quality steel plates welded with advanced welding technology, which has sufficient rigidity and durability and can withstand various torque and impact loads. The steel wheel track is reasonable, which effectively improves the stability of the equipment and prevents the equipment from derailing on the track.
3.2 Hydraulic system
The fully hydraulic steering system is adopted, which is flexible and light to operate, reliable in operation, low in failure rate , simple and compact in structure , easy to install and arrange, and simple in maintenance . The steering system consists of steering gear, oil pump, oil cylinder, oil tank, various valves and pipelines . The steering gear has a hydraulic follow-up effect, that is, when the steering wheel turns an angle, the vehicle has a corresponding proportional steering angle. When the steering wheel stops turning, the vehicle moves in a circle with an equal radius. If the steering wheel returns to the middle position, the vehicle also returns to the straight-line driving state. The middle articulated steering is adopted, which makes it convenient and quick to get on and off the road, and the time for getting on and off the road does not exceed 3 minutes. The weight distribution of the vehicle body is balanced, which has better adaptability to railway traction and can realize two-way traction. With the middle locking device of the vehicle, it has better passability in curves.
3.3 Engine
It uses a four-stroke, water-cooled, turbocharged Weichai diesel engine and is equipped with a preheating device to make it suitable for use in cold seasons. Its pollutant emissions meet the emission requirements of the " Exhaust Pollutant Emission Limits and Measurement Methods for Diesel Engines for Non-road Mobile Machinery (China Phase III and IV) " .
3.4 Coupler
A CA-3 coupler is configured at the front and rear ends of the equipment respectively for coupling with freight trains to achieve two-way traction . The coupler height is between 1070mm±10mm.

3.5 Cab
The cab adopts a high-quality plate welding structure. The cab has a reasonable structure, solid and firm, has strong enough anti-impact and anti-external pressure ability, dustproof, heat-insulated and sound-insulated, and can minimize the damage to the driver in the event of a collision accident. The panoramic windshield has a wider field of vision. The cab is a fully sealed structure with two safety exits. There is a rearview mirror on the left and right of the cab. The doors and windows of the cab use safety glass and comply with relevant national regulations. The front and rear windshields are equipped with wipers to ensure driving safety. There are overhead warning lights and air horns outside the cab. The cab is equipped with indoor rearview mirrors, surveillance cameras, instrument consoles, monitoring displays, fans, air conditioners, heaters, train brake control devices, hydraulic system operating handles and other devices that can meet the needs of the operation, and fire extinguishers are installed (configured in accordance with relevant national fire regulations). 3.6 Braking system
The equipment braking system consists of two independent systems, one for railway and one for road. When the railway or road machine is running alone, hydraulic caliper disc brakes are used, and foot-controlled braking is used; when towing rail vehicles , brake shoes acting on the train wheels are used for braking.
3.6.1 Single-machine braking is achieved by stepping on the brake pedal, and the pressurized air enters the booster pump through the master cylinder. After the booster pump injects the pressurized oil into the drive axle, the brake is achieved through the caliper disc brake; when the brake pedal is released, the pressurized air of the booster pump is discharged through the brake valve, the pressure of the booster pump disappears, and the equipment is relieved. There are four caliper disc brakes, located at both ends of the front drive axle and the rear drive axle. The parking brake is located at one end of the gearbox output shaft.
3.6.2 Automatic brake control devices are generally used for train braking. They have two functions: normal braking and emergency braking. They can realize normal braking and emergency braking of trains. Normal braking controls the braking, pressure maintenance and relief of the brakes of each vehicle in the train by moving the control valve handle to the corresponding position. The equipment is equipped with a screw air compressor to provide sufficient compressed air for train traction. The compressed air is mainly used for the relief of the towed train, that is, to inflate the train brake cylinder through the QQ2 brake valve. When the pressure reaches 0.6MPa, the train brake is released and the tractor can tow the vehicle to move. Emergency braking is to turn the emergency exhaust valve to the emergency braking position, which can directly connect the train pipe to the atmosphere, rapidly reduce the pressure of the train pipe, and trigger the brakes of each vehicle in the train to implement emergency braking.

3.6.3 An emergency brake button is installed on one side of the vehicle body. When an unexpected situation occurs, people outside the vehicle can touch the emergency brake button to shut down the engine in an emergency, ensuring the safety of vehicle operation.
3.6.4 A screw air compressor is used, and the air compressor meets the requirements of maximum exhaust pressure not less than 0.8MPa and air pumping speed not less than 2.0m³/min, and can provide the compressed air required for both railway and highway working conditions.
3.7 Electrical System
The electrical wiring of the equipment is invisible, single-wire, DC24V, and each major electrical appliance is equipped with a fuse to achieve overcurrent protection. The wires must be protected by casing, the wiring is reasonable, and the appearance is beautiful. The starting battery uses two 12V maintenance-free lead-acid batteries, which are well-known brand products, and the capacity of a single battery is not less than 120Ah.
The vehicle body is equipped with no less than two lights at the front and rear, and the luminous intensity of each light complies with the provisions of GB/T20418-2011. LED lights are preferred, including front and rear working lights, lighting lights, warning lights and side lights, etc., to meet the requirements of night operation of the equipment.
3.8 Driving Monitoring System
The front and rear hooks, four guide wheels and cab are equipped with surveillance cameras. The stored images can be copied to storage components such as USB flash drives and played on audio and video playback devices such as computers and notebooks. The monitor can switch and display the surveillance images separately through a handheld remote control. The surveillance camera is an industrial-grade camera with infrared auxiliary imaging function to meet the requirements of nighttime use.

The equipment's road-rail conversion system consists of a steel wheel guide device and an intermediate locking device. The steel wheel has a diameter of 500mm and a large contact surface with the inner and outer sides of the rail, which increases the stability of operation and the anti-drop performance, improving safety.
The steel wheel guide device uses a hydraulic lifting cylinder to lift the guide wheel and complete the road-rail conversion. The hydraulic lifting cylinder is equipped with a pull-wire displacement sensor to achieve the positioning of the guide wheel.
The intermediate locking device is used to manually close the intermediate connecting rod after the equipment has completed the on-road operation by turning the steering wheel when the alignment indicator light comes on, thus completing the conversion from road to rail.
The hydraulic system has a self-locking function. The hydraulic cylinder for lifting the guide wheel and the hydraulic cylinder for intermediate locking are equipped with a two-way hydraulic lock to prevent the guide device or the intermediate locking device from failing due to oil leakage, rupture, etc. caused by force majeure factors in the hydraulic pipeline.

The equipment is equipped with a dedicated air conditioner to ensure that the temperature in the cab is no more than 26°C in summer and no less than 18°C in winter. The equipment is equipped with a parking heater to ensure heating requirements during winter operations.
3.11 Transmission System
It adopts a hydraulic torque converter and gearbox, and the drive axle is a rigid heavy-duty axle. The front and rear drive axles have the same structure, speed ratio, static load, dynamic load and input and output torque.
