GKD2 shunting diesel locomotive is developed to meet the requirements of the industrial and mining companies and railway departments for shunting locomotives. This locomotive is of main AC-DC transmission and equipped with 6280ZJ diesel engine, TQFR-3000 main alternator and ZQDR-410 traction motor. The maximum service power of the engine is 1470kW, the maximum running speed is 100km/h and the minimum radius of curvature negotiated is 80m.

    Performance and characteristics: New techniques are adopted: computer control, positive pressure air ventilation for high and low voltage cabinets and unit brake, etc. The main parts of this shunting locomotive are interchangeable to DF11,DF8B and DF4 locomotives. Modern pulse pressure-charging technique is used for the diesel engine, greatly improving the economical efficiency of this locomotive. New side bearing structure is utilized and the locomotive has good curve negotiation ability. Specific protective measures are taken for special operation conditions such as rain, high altitude, dust and high temperature; meanwhile, multiple parallel design plans and structure interfaces are reserved for different operation requirements of industrial and mining companies, satisfying customized demand and performing customer-oriented management concept.
